Veteran forward Fernando Pisani agreed Tuesday to a one-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Pisani, 33, tallied 4 goals, 8 points and 10 penalty minutes in 40 games with the Edmonton Oilers during the 2009-10 season.
The Edmonton, Alberta, native has spent his entire seven-year NHL career with the Oilers and was a finalist for the 2008 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, awarded annually to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey.
Originally selected by the Oilers in the eighth round (No. 195) of the 1996 Entry Draft, Pisani has registered 80 goals and 153 points along with 190 penalty minutes in 402 career regular-season games.
He has added 15 goals and 19 points in 30 postseason games, which includes leading the Oilers with 14 goals and 5 game-winning goals, and ranking third with 18 points during the club’s run to the 2006 Stanley Cup Final.
