Veteran forward Fernando Pisani agreed Tuesday to a one-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. Pisani, 33, tallied 4 goals, 8 points and 10 penalty minutes in 40 games with the Edmonton Oilers during the 2009-10 season. The Edmonton, Alberta, native has spent his entire seven-year NHL career with the Oilers and was a finalist for the 2008 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, awarded annually to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey. Originally selected by the Oilers in the eighth round (No. 195) of the 1996 Entry Draft, Pisani has registered 80 goals and 153 points along with 190 penalty minutes in 402 career regular-season games.
