Ok, So even though this game out close to 2 weeks ago I just got it after I was convinced this would be cool. The main reason I got it was for me and my 2 year old son to play because the 2k11 controls are too hard for him to grasp. So, here's my personal opinion of EA Sports take on the Wii.
Graphics - As said before on my 2k11 review for the Wii the graphics are great but comparing to the technical capabilities of todays video games the graphics suffer. So I will rank the graphics comparing to the Wii's capabilitis. 7/10
Presentation - This game has a real classic arcade feel to the menu and really looks great. 8/10
Gameplay - Very easy to ease in and get a hang of. Not as real of a feeling as 2k11 but good enough. While yes I know this game is aimed to be for kids and casual gamers, they should have aimed for the "hardcore gamer" at the same time. 7/10
Controls - If your looking for an easy game that you can play with your grandmother this is it! I do not mean that in a bad way. While the controls are very easy and even my 2 year old can handle them it hits home on what it was aiming for and that is to make you feel like your playing hockey. Would have been cooler if they included some WiiMotionPlus capabilities but no use crying over spilled milk. 8/10
Overall 30/40 = 75% (C)
I would also like to add that it loses some credibility for no Online Play, and With the hope of a real roster update. But it regains this with the fact you can use AHL & CHL teams would have been cooler if they included the Foreign teams also but oh well. It also loses points for not being able to select a jersey you get the home or the away ... i have not found out if there is a way i'll edit when i find out for sure!
